Carrot Parisian
As carrots go, these are the fanciest. Their red-orange colour adds je ne sais quoi to any dish, and unlike everything else in Paris, they are totally recognisable when served on a plate. Their shallow root system makes them ideal for poor soil conditions, and they can be grown in containers.
Equally sought after in gourmet restaurants and kids’ lunchboxes, these sweet carrots freeze well and store easily. Round carrots were originally cultivated because they grow faster than the classic, elongated varieties (although we think it’s just because they look really cool).
