This might just be the prettiest veggie of all time. The Watermelon Radish is an heirloom treasure from China, with white flesh and bright pink circles that darken to magenta. Its round, creamy roots are crisply firm and its mild flavour has almond-sweet notes. To summarise, YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR GARDEN.

Watermelon Radishes can be served cooked or raw, hot or cold – although cooking enhances the natural sweetness and tempers some of the spice. Sliced thin they showcase their vibrant colour. Also, THEY LOOK LIKE TINY WATERMELONS. We’ll stop shouting now.
